And yes after all that IV has done and all the advantage IV members have obtained FREE OF COST just by sitting on the fence (on their behinds), while the core team, who by the way have full time jobs AND families, slogged MORE THAN FULL TIME to get IV's very first goal to be achieved, THEN I say I am FULLY JUSTIFIED in calling those people CHEAP.

First off it is Alien REGISTRATION number and you can find it on the newer I-140 approvals OR you can use your OPT EAD card A# if you were ever on an F1.
IT IS NOT your passport number and it is issued by the USCIS. If you dont have it check with ur lawyer. If you are not sure pls leave it blank.

It's like the USCIS and employers ganging up against you to make sure that you can't change employer without having to start everything all over again. Is that really fair? Well.. who said life is fair. :)

I am in the same boat and need to get my address updated. So what I understand from above posts is that there is no need to do paper based AR11 and can just do it online for I-485, EAD as well as AP, right?? Once done, just keep printouts for records , thats it???

Download trial version of Adobe Acrobat professional, type in the form and save the form. Reopen it and verify whether ur data is there or not.
Before u do that on actual form, save a copy of it and do it.

I guess original poster is asking about saving forms after filling it up. You can save the form but the data that you filled up will not be saved. If someone is actually able to save the form along with the data, I'll be interested too to know how.

I got stuck in Canada for a week because the PIMS was not up-to-date. Luckily it took only a week but I have heard stories people getting stuck for a couple of weeks. If you are not in the PIMS, the consulate contacts the KCC and they have to research and update the PIMS. Do a find on PIMS and you'll hear a lot of stories.

While we are discussing this, I have another question. What if someone moves to a different company with similar role. I get it that the new employer will have to file for PERM and I-140, but is there something that can be done so that priority date is ported, assuming the previous I-140 has been approved when the shift happened and there is still more than 1 year left on H1B (either because < 6 years or because of 3 yr extensions after I-140 has been applied).

2. Your I-140 was approved

You have to somehow prove to USCIS that company A and C are subsidiaries and mere mentioning that they have been owned by the same person may not fly. You need some kind of proof on paper.
This may not fly because, both are considered different legal entities. The time that you have worked for A from Oct 05 to Aug 06 till the date H1B Transfer was filed from C to A, your employment will be considered unauthorized.
You need to immediately contact a good lawyer to evaluate your situation and options. I am sure they will find a way out.
Your case is slightly different than working for multiple employers while on H1B.
You can have multiple H1B's and work for multiple employers, given one of them is primary full time employment. This is perfectly legal and one of my friend has gone through this situation during his GC process. He did get an RFE and provided the details of both employments to CIS and they eventually approved his case. This was in 2004 though.

This one was really difficult for me to evaluate because of all the openess, but I felt myself gravitating more towards the forms in number 3. Since it was the form that attracted me, I downloaded and cropped to make the fence the focus (since that's what grabbed my attention initially). I think I like the crop sans sky where only the wheatfield ( or is it oats?) and fence posts show the most. I know it has less complexity than the entire photo; maybe I'm just into simplistic and minimalist this week :)

I agree that the DC rally is a critical event but I think I am loosing interest in this online forum. I guess the forum moderators may be busy with organizing the DC event. Hello OP,
Here is what I did. I have mentioned some tips for you to save money:
Fly to Tulsa. There is tonnes of BUS service from Tulsa to Nogales(AZ). It is damn cheap..I think $10.00
They will drop you at the border. Walk to the other side.
YOU DONT NEED VISA TO GO TO MEXICO IF YOU PLAN TO STAY IN NOGALES ONLY.
I did get a visa but was told it is not needed. No one cares...you can simply walk over..no one will check either.
Cab costs anywhere between 7 and 10 to go to USA consulate.
There is a local bus like blue line in delhi that can take you there too. It is not worth it though. Chances are high that you will get your visa the same day. If not, you can rent hotel for anywhere between 30 and 50.
Take cab come back to border. Walk over...do the same immigration process like you would do at any airport.
Someone up there is right..be prepared to face atleast 150 to 200 Mexican H2 or H3 ...workers. This will be the longest part of your journey.
No need to get any mexican currency. They gladly take USD.
To use your cell phone, come to the border..its a regular within 50 states call from there....as soon as you go like 1 mile inside, you loose signals. Then it becomes international call.
Don't drink water there...drink beer.
